Is Siege Media worth it for GEO?
For a company that needs content production and digital PR at scale, and can fund it, Siege Media is a serious option. For an early-stage SaaS company it is often the wrong shape. Siege publishes no price, its team is over 120 people, and its case studies are large brands such as Zapier and Zendesk. Arobis, Citant, Growthner, Optimist and StartupCookie publish prices and say they work with early-stage companies. 1 2
What does Siege Media offer?
Siege runs content creation, content marketing, digital PR, Reddit marketing and GEO under one roof. Its founder wrote a book on generative engine optimization, published by Wiley, and its security page names Huntress and Secureframe among its clients. That breadth suits a company whose AI visibility depends on earning coverage across many publications, which takes a large team. 1
When is Siege Media probably not worth it?
- You have not yet found out where AI assistants already mention you. A fixed-price audit answers that for a few hundred dollars before you commit to a programme.
- Your budget is in the low thousands a month. Siege's own SEO pricing guide puts quality SEO at around $3,000 or more a month as a market figure, and a full content and PR programme costs more than SEO alone.
- You need to see a price before a call. Siege publishes none, while every option below does.
How we chose the alternatives
Each alternative is one of the 107 agencies in the AEO Agency Index, sells AI search work to B2B SaaS, publishes a monthly price of $5,000 or less, and says on its own site that it works with early-stage, seed or Series A companies. Every fact was read twice. 2
Five options for seed to Series B
| Agency | From, per month | Why it fits an early-stage company |
|---|---|---|
| Arobis 4 | $2,500 | AI shortlist work for Series A to growth-stage companies, on a 3-month minimum. |
| Citant 5 | $5,000 | Built for seed to Series B SaaS; a $440 audit before any larger commitment. |
| Growthner 6 | $2,500 | A plan aimed at early-stage SaaS, with no lock-in contracts. |
| Optimist 7 | $3,000 | Content-led SEO and AEO for early-stage startups to public companies, month to month. |
| StartupCookie 8 | $5,000 | Content and go-to-market for B2B SaaS startups, month to month, eight clients at most. |
Citant is the cheapest way to start: a one-time $440 audit, then a nine-week pilot at $7,875 before any retainer. StartupCookie is run by its founder and takes eight clients at most. Growthner's $2,500 plan is described as best for early-stage SaaS brands. 5 8 6
Where Salienz fits
Our retainers start at $5,499 a month and are built for companies of roughly $5M ARR and up, so we are not an early-stage retainer either. The free AI visibility audit is open to any company, and the $800 paid audit covers 100 buyer questions. Either answers the first question before you hire anyone, Siege included. 3
